Week Ending 16.11.18
What a busy half term so far!
Science Day was a huge success - the children thoroughly enjoyed making the slime and watching the consistency change when we added the 'magic ingredient'. I would like to thank you for your continued support and for providing your child with a container to transport the slime home in.
We were incredibly lucky to have Mrs Chambers with us for the day, the children made their own rockets - as I am sure some of you were shown afterwards! Lots of fun was had by all!
Some of Penguin class were chosen to represent the school at one of the sports festivals that we part take in. They had a wonderful morning and demonstrated some fantastic skills - well done to you all!
We have been celebrating 100 years since the First World War ended. We have learnt about remembrance and what this means. We made some pin wheel poppies to take in to our remembrance assembly and the children who did not attend the sports festival made some stained glass effect window memorial pictures.
This week we have welcomed Giovanna the newest addition to Penguin Class; she has settled really well and is establishing friendships both in the class and in the wider KS1 community.
We are busy practising our songs for our KS1 Christmas Nativity. The lyrics to the songs are available to download below should your child wish to do some extra practice at home.
We are looking forward to our performances - I am incredibly proud of the children and their hard work so far to learn their lines and the songs.
If you would like some advice with regards to the costumes for the Nativity, then please do not hesistate to speak to either myself, Mrs Mellor or Miss Potter.
